This is a personal, non-commercial website. This page explains what information is collected across darkestdestiny.com and its sections, and by whom.
The site owner does not personally collect, store, or process visitor data through the site's static pages -- including the homepage, Chronicles of Starfall, and the Daily News RSS Feed. These pages do not use forms, accounts, logins, or any tracking code placed by the site owner.
Our web hosting provider automatically generates general traffic and usage statistics (such as visit counts and referring sites) as a routine part of running any website. This data is provided directly to the site owner's hosting account and is not actively reviewed or used for tracking individual visitors.
This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn more about this at Google's Partner Sites policy.
This site does not provide its own cookie-consent banner or on-site ad preference control. If you'd rather Google not use your browsing history to personalize the ads you see, that setting lives with Google, not with this site: visit Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info to adjust it. Short of that (or running your own browser's tracking protections), the only opt-out this site itself offers is the same one every website offers: not visiting it.
The Bits' Recipes section of this site runs on WordPress, a separate content management system. WordPress and its plugins may set their own cookies to support basic site functionality (such as remembering comment details you enter). The site owner does not use this section to intentionally collect personal information.
Whispering Woods, our text-based game, uses cookies to remember your in-game location and inventory between visits. Whispering Woods has its own dedicated privacy notice, available directly within the game at /ww/.
GEODE, our match-3 puzzle game, uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) to remember your best score and the last 8-letter handle you entered, so it's ready the next time you play. This information stays on your device -- the site owner does not have access to it. If you submit a score to the high-score board, the handle you typed and your score are stored on the server as part of a shared leaderboard visible to other players; no other information is collected or linked to that entry.
This site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and the site owner does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This policy may be updated from time to time as the site changes. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
